Lincolnshire County Council Developing Partnership Excellence

Overview:

Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) has a long term strategy to deliver excellent public services through partnership working. This will include working with other authorities, voluntary, public sector and business partners.

Our approach:

Working inclusively with senior managers and staff within LCC and their partners a series of working sessions were held throughout the autumn of 2005, to develop a single partnering framework for all to adopt and use.

The framework is an interactive tool contained on a CD-Rom. It enables a partnership manager to check that all aspects, parameters and charateristics of successful partnerships are in place and are working correctly. It can be used to diagnose weaknesses and help to direct corrective actions.

The framework has been adopted by LCC and is now being implemented throughout LCC and its partners. A number of partnership champions from within LCC and its partners will be given a series of detailed training and awareness sessions by experts from Bridge. Once implemented and the champions trained, it is planned that all existing partnerships will be reviewed using the new tool and plans for their further improvement put in place.

Outcome:

From a point where our client needed to develop a single corporate approach to partnering and collaboration we were able to rapidly develop a programme which included working with their partners. The authority and their partners will be approaching partnership collaboration using a single approach and common tools contained within a CD ROM.
