Creating high performing partnership teams – One of the UK’s strongest and most recognised brands

Overview:

Our client’s partnership development team already delivered circa 25% of the organisation’s customer acquisitions and it was a priority for the board for this to be protected and grown in a fiercely competitive market.  In order to achieve this our client recognised that the team needed to continuously be aware of and employ absolute best practice in its drive to secure strategic partnerships.  In support of this we were asked to assess the way in which the team worked and establish a plan for development.

Our approach:

Our assessment focused on the team’s partnering strategy, how it secured its partnerships and how these relationships were managed.  Framed by the Four Ps© within our best practice model (Purpose, Proposition, Process and People) we undertook a detailed analysis of the team, working with individuals and in group sessions.  We identified the key strengths and weaknesses and importantly provided a comparison with relevant industry benchmarks for high performing teams.  Our recommendations were presented and shaped the work to establish the development plans; these built on the strongest elements of existing capability and clearly identified areas of focus in order to secure the highest levels of performance through best practice.  The team were fully involved in agreeing the development plans, and how they were to be rolled out.

Outcome:

Our Assessment enabled the sponsoring board director to make key decisions concerning plans for the team, how it would develop and the partnership strategy that would guide its activities.  A strong foundation was provided for the team, enabling them to build towards best practice and quickly accelerate their performance.  Involving team members in agreeing the development plans ensured that individuals volunteered to take responsibility for specific elements, and established the mechanisms to support continuous improvement.
